Spring Fever

Hello Friends, I'm excited to let you know that I'll be attending Herb Day in person at Creekside Plaza in Gahanna, Ohio, on May 3rd from 10 am to 3 pm. I'll be bringing some new items, such as bird baths and butterfly drinking dishes for the garden. I would love to see you there!

what I've been doing:

I absolutely enjoy witnessing the arrival of spring in my gardens. It's such an exciting period! I'm dedicating time to tending the garden, doing some spring cleaning, and incorporating compost and bone meal, as well as applying Epsom salt, all while envisioning a season full of marvels. I've ended up with far too many seedlings and have come to the conclusion that I truly need a second or larger indoor greenhouse in the future.

Recently, my life has been quite hectic due to new family responsibilities that require my attention, but the garden helps me stay centered, and I feel grateful for that. Professionally, this year I'm focusing on where I can best connect and share my work. I've been thoroughly enjoying immersive events that combine tea sharing, movement, breath, self-care rituals, and, of course, ceramics. I'm seeking venues for events and meaningful collaborations with other professionals in the healing arts.

I've been committed to my wellness, deeply engaging in my spring training to prepare for gardening, paddleboarding, and setting up for events! You'll find me practicing yoga, rowing on my machine, or enjoying my new favorite, barre strength! I'm thrilled about the seasonal fruits and vegetables from our gardens and am embracing teas like nettle, picking young leaves as they appear. I also recently had my first mammogram and am proud to be prioritizing my health more seriously this year.

what I'm currently listening to, reading, watching, etc.:

I'm still obsessed with Chappell Roan and I'm thrilled about the upcoming 'Momma' concert at Skully's in Columbus, Ohio. I've been listening to a lot of Bob Dylan as I look forward to seeing him perform with Willie Nelson and Nathaniel Rateliff this summer at the Blossom Music Center. I've also been exploring classical music after recently getting a Columbus Library Culture Pass ticket to the Columbus Symphony—what a delight. Lately, I've been turning off all the music more often and savoring the quiet moments around me.

I'm immersing myself in "The Compost Coach" by Kate Flood, and indulging in the best guilty pleasure I could find, "Dream Girl Drama" by Tessa Bailey. I genuinely believe that enjoying and learning from reading should both be approached with seriousness!

What activities do you have planned for your gardens this spring?
